Is week number 5 already and is time to plan our next step as time flies and we want to make the best from every opportunity that we get.
I always loved to understand and to have knowledge about cars, but in the same time I need the car to understand and give me in return what I need. A daily car it’s all about the matter of commitment– the time you put in, the money you put in… it all hangs on that.
I love cars that represents me and I found a lovely M6, with a powerful V10, 5 liters engine because, hey, we love big engines, right? My e46 2.5 liters is great, a reliable car, never had any issues with it, but started to be little bit…dull. I feel I need more of a kick, to feel some adrenaline while driving, and after the first drive test, the M6 definitely wakes up fight-or-flight hormone 🙂 the only issue, an ABS warning come on dash, and I have trust issues when I hear, it happened on the way here, can’t cost too much, probably just a sensor. Well, I no longer work for FORD, I got a new job as a service advisor for BMW
so is time to test my new colleagues, they will find the reason why ABS light is on and how much will cost to repair it?
I needed some advice, and I knew the exact person who I can trust it will give me the best and honest advice. ”If it makes you happy, and judging by the smile on your face, must worth it…but make sure the seller agrees, in case of any unplanned repairs that cost more than you can afford, the seller is willing to gives you the money back and take his car”.
And is exactly what I did. The trip back home was amazing, hat car is fast and scary, in a good way. Gives me the feeling that I love, that the car can do more that I can handle so I need to learn it and understand it.
Next day, car was on the ramp at the BMW dealership where I worked and…the list for repairs ain’t short as well. They could’t tell me the exact issue of the ABS warning, so we needed to eliminate the possible causes one by one, and to add at a total cost some other unexpected issues that we found at the brief test. I did what I was daily doing for my my costumers, an estimate… £7000 for the repairs.
Obviously, I am disappointing but I get attached easily so I try to figure out is there is a way to keep it.
Unfortunately I found more reasons to let it go, than to keep it, so I returned the car to the owner, who said that will contact me after he repairs it. That never happened…
To help me get over the disappointment I just had, my mentor asked me if I’d like to join him at the annual national exhibition center. Plenty of historic and classic cars there, and as we were admiring all the beauties, I saw him…sitting there, glowing, getting all the attention from the car enthusiast that knew what wolf is hiding in that sheep’s clothing…I felt he was waiting for me..I couldn’t resist and told myself…’’he must come home with me”.
And he did, blindly I would add, as it was exposed in a closed space and I couldn’t hear the engine running or to do a drive test. First time I ever did such thing, I was just hoping it won’t be another disappointment, all I could do now is to wait for my baby to come home…
And there it was, finally home safe. I also purchased for some extra money the hard-top, which I think would be perfect for winter times. I nervously started the engine, wow, what an amazing sound this 6 cylinders engine has…and now is time to know each other. What an exraordinary machine, so well behaved, so responsive, friendly and…fast. I am fully in love with it, might not have a blacktag yet, we need to wait a few more years, but it made me instantly to forget about the M6, one fire drives out another.
As with the M6, I decided to do take it for brief test to MW dealership, once bitten, twice shy. Over a rainy night, I found water leaks on the driver side, but before I start to be concern, we fixed the issue, the drain hole was blocked..easy peasy.
Another issue that I noticed while driving was that the M3 started to rev out of a sudden. Problem was an air leak found while spraying some brake cleaner around he engine, nothing serious, just a loose hose.
Time for the brief test, fingers crossed.
I would appreciate to hear your opinion about the decisions that I made this week, and which one you think is better, for me, the M3 or the M6? Let’s chat as always, on the Community Group.
