A Week of Challenges in the Restoration Workshop

Another week in the restoration workshop brought with it a wave of emotions, as we encountered a rather challenging situation. After enjoying some fun moments at Prescott a week earlier, we were excited to welcome a fully restored Maserati Sebring into our garage. However, our enthusiasm quickly turned to frustration when we discovered that the boot wouldn’t open.

After placing the battery on charge, we attempted to access the boot only to realize that there was no way in through the rear seat—thanks to a metal panel that blocked the access. We called in a locksmith, but he informed us that while the locking mechanism was functioning properly and the boot was technically unlocked, it just wouldn’t budge.

It was painful to see that hole drilled into the perfectly restored aluminum boot, but after hours of hard work and determination, we finally managed to open it. Now, the challenge ahead is to fix the damage caused during this process.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this situation. If you’ve ever faced a similar predicament, what would you have done?

As always, I’ve attached a video documenting our journey with the Maserati and some pictures showcasing the craftsmanship and the unfortunate issue we dealt with.

Let’s connect in the comments and share our experiences!
