So here is a scenario. You have unlimited money but you have to spend it on a brand new 25 plate modern car of your preferred/favorite brand (That is still a company in 2025). For me it would be the Mercedes Benz Maybach S680 First Class. Not that I ever would as even if I had that kind of money to spend on a car I would always buy a classic. If going that price for a Mercedes I would get a 600SWB. Very happy with my Fintail and that will be my car till death. Would like to get a few more classics though…. Who doesn’t.

I agree. Good friend of mine has a 2025 5 series bimmer electric, as his company car. Been in it a few times and all the sensors and warnings like the lane thing and is has a shout at you if you go 31 etc. I think these are all mandates for new cars. I would never buy one just for that… I agree about the Bluetooth though. My fintail has Bluetooth that the previous owner installed. Better than having the phone on speaker resting on your leg. Less illegal too. One thing about his 5 though, its rapid, but you don’t really get the feel of speed as its so insulated. I test drove a tesla once to just have a go at the acceleration and 30 to 80 in 2 seconds down the Chichester bypass is nothing to be sniffed about, I hated every other aspect. How come you stopped work for BMW?

Interesting idea! Funny enough, I used to be a BMW fan since I was a teenager and I even worked for them as a service advisor, but not anymore with all the modern stuff.
Modern cars just aren’t really to my taste. They’re fine to drive now and then, and great for towing a trailer, but all those sensors drive me mad! I also find them quite strange to repair, you end up relying on a computer to tell you what’s wrong, and you lose that connection with the car… unless it’s Bluetooth 😄
That said, I wouldn’t say no to a 2025 Alpine A110… or even better, a Factory Five Racing Mk4 Roadster!
