    • Greetings from Australia…. I’ve been following the Blacktag Octane on YouTube for a few months and have been enjoying the content immensely. My particular passion is for Italian GT cars of the 60s and 70s.

      • What are you currently driving?

        • Hi Matthew thanks for the ‘like’ and to answer your question, I’ve had a few ‘classics’ over the years many before they were ‘Classics’ however my two long term classics are a 1972 Lancia Fulvia Sport Zagato which I’ve had since 1989 and a 1970 Maserati Indy 4200 since 2000

      • Greetings from the UK, Mark and a very warm welcome to the Blacktag Octane corner of the internet! 😊
It genuinely means a lot to hear you’ve been enjoying the videos over the past few months.
You clearly have excellent taste as well, there’s just something incredibly special about Italian GT cars from the 60s and 70s. The styling, the noise, the…Read More

        • Thank you for the warm welcome, I look forward to the ‘appearance’ of another Italian on your YouTube channel😊

    • I saw this on the Brooklands Members FB group. Nice picture of the cars and if I am not mistaken Gromit on the right hand side? I love Brooklands. I take my Fintail to all of the big shows. I will attach a picture of NYD when I was parked next to another Fintail (You don’t see 2 fintails together much in England…) There is always a massive variety.

      • You are absolutely right! It was the Spring rally and around 25 Bugs! Gromit was there, I’m working on preparing a new series with it 😁 #spoileralert

        • It’s a fantastic place. Well worth a trip down for a show. Like Easter or NYD.

          • There are so many things to see! I think I’ve only been there twice, in a month, once when I’ve done a livestream and now with the BUGs and I still haven’t had the chance to explore everything 🙃

            • So this was taken on their new year day meet 26. Its a massive show full of like minded people. It also has a huge variety. Very rare to see two fintails at a show in the UK. Mine is the w111 (6cyl) on the left and there was a w110 (4cyl) too which had come all the way from Cardiff!

              • I am quite local to Brooklands I am originally from south west London but now surrey/hants border. Its about 40 mins drive for me. This was taken at the old pits which is now an office park I think Samsung and P&G are there. Enjoy your Bank Holiday weekend I trust you will be out and about in classics. I have taken mine to Hayling Island for the…Read More

    • Shopping is less tedious in a classic or I would say proper car. Also shop late to get all the bargains.

      • now that is cool! Using your calssic as a daily, looks so well 🙂

        • The only time it doesn’t get used much is when they start salting the roads. Even then I still take it a couple of miles a week too get everything warm. I mean why would you not, tax free motoring and thousand times more fun…

          • Totally makes sense! I know how bad salt is for cars, especially proper classics. I’m really looking forward to experiencing a classic as a daily driver. The more you drive them, the more reliable they become. Sitting unused is their worst enemy.

            • Yes. The same people who use the car as an ornament, drive it once and then I does it start… You need to use them as much as you car really. And look after them. Salt is a killer here …My kind of rule of thumb is. If its a nice day, take the MB, if there is a dribble of rain take it, but if there is salt, rainstorm or a smart motorway…Read More

    • So here is a scenario. You have unlimited money but you have to spend it on a brand new 25 plate modern car of your preferred/favorite brand (That is still a company in 2025). For me it would be the Mercedes Benz Maybach S680 First Class. Not that I ever would as even if I had that kind of money to spend on a car I would always buy a classic. If…Read More

      • Interesting idea! Funny enough, I used to be a BMW fan since I was a teenager and I even worked for them as a service advisor, but not anymore with all the modern stuff.
Modern cars just aren’t really to my taste. They’re fine to drive now and then, and great for towing a trailer, but all those sensors drive me mad! I also find them quite str…Read More

        • I agree. Good friend of mine has a 2025 5 series bimmer electric, as his company car. Been in it a few times and all the sensors and warnings like the lane thing and is has a shout at you if you go 31 etc. I think these are all mandates for new cars. I would never buy one just for that… I agree about the Bluetooth though. My fintail has…Read More
