Shopping is less tedious in a classic or I would say proper car. Also shop late to get all the bargains.

The only time it doesn’t get used much is when they start salting the roads. Even then I still take it a couple of miles a week too get everything warm. I mean why would you not, tax free motoring and thousand times more fun…

Totally makes sense! I know how bad salt is for cars, especially proper classics. I’m really looking forward to experiencing a classic as a daily driver. The more you drive them, the more reliable they become. Sitting unused is their worst enemy.

Yes. The same people who use the car as an ornament, drive it once and then I does it start… You need to use them as much as you car really. And look after them. Salt is a killer here …My kind of rule of thumb is. If its a nice day, take the MB, if there is a dribble of rain take it, but if there is salt, rainstorm or a smart motorway…Read More

So here is a scenario. You have unlimited money but you have to spend it on a brand new 25 plate modern car of your preferred/favorite brand (That is still a company in 2025). For me it would be the Mercedes Benz Maybach S680 First Class. Not that I ever would as even if I had that kind of money to spend on a car I would always buy a classic. If…Read More

Interesting idea! Funny enough, I used to be a BMW fan since I was a teenager and I even worked for them as a service advisor, but not anymore with all the modern stuff.
Modern cars just aren’t really to my taste. They’re fine to drive now and then, and great for towing a trailer, but all those sensors drive me mad! I also find them quite str…Read More-
I agree. Good friend of mine has a 2025 5 series bimmer electric, as his company car. Been in it a few times and all the sensors and warnings like the lane thing and is has a shout at you if you go 31 etc. I think these are all mandates for new cars. I would never buy one just for that… I agree about the Bluetooth though. My fintail has…Read More

I am glad I found your You Tube channel Paula. Very good viewing and some very nice cars, makes my 1963 model look new… Keep it up

Thank you very much, and welcome to my website! I try to offer a mix of car content, from prewar to modern classics. All historic cars are special, and I look forward to seeing where this journey takes us 😊

There is a lot of motoring things on You tube, but a lot of them wind me up. Yours however is different. I watch the videos for more than a couple of minutes. Just spent tonight eating a steak and watching some. The only others I really watch is Road trip revivals and UK Barnfinds. Worth checking them out.Doing anything for drive it day? Saying…Read More

I like them all, or at least I’m willing to give them a try..as long as they are not electric and full of sensors 😩

If you cut me, I bleed Mercedes, plus my initials are MB… But I do like some bimmers, like the the 90s ones like yours and the 7 that was in a bond film, cant remember the E number for that. Remind me? I was in a mates company car an electric 5 that is about a year old, full of the mandate EU safety stuff like it shouts at you if you go 31mph…Read More

I drive a 1963 Mercedes Benz 220s automatic. It was sold new in Australia and lived there until 2019 when the museum it was housed in owed the taxman and had to close so all the cars were auctioned off. To my knowledge its the only RHD in this colour in the UK. Its my daily car in the spring and summer months. Not for sale anytime soon if…Read More

That’s a special car, very elegant and imposing! The fact that you’re not afraid to use it as a daily is fantastic, and your training definitely pays off.
Networking is really important, especially in the world of old cars. I believe it’s almost impossible to do everything on an old car by yourself, so thank you! I’ll definitely be in touch i…Read More-
Well I am not a mechanic really, but I am quite competent with working on old cars and do stuff on mine and mates. 90% as there is only so much you can do on the drive. The only time it was in a mechanics last year was to bleed and change the break fluid as its a faff doing it on the drive. Plus I am a Batchelor so would have to call a mate round…Read More
