For the next few days, I’ll be stepping away from the workshop and spending some time in Portsmouth.
Not because I’ve grown tired of old cars.😁
      Quite the opposite.
One of the things I enjoy most about classic cars is that they encourage you to learn skills that many people have forgotten. Whether it’s adjusting brakes, setting ignition timing, or simply understanding how a machine works, there is something deeply satisfying about keeping old knowledge alive.
This week I’m swapping spanners for sailing ropes and trying my hand at another traditional skill.
If all goes to plan, the next stop will be Croatia.
Will this become a regular hobby? I have absolutely no idea.
But just like buying an old car, the only way to find out is to give it a try.
And who knows… if I don’t sink anything, perhaps some of it might even make its way into a future video. 😍

      • Pompy is a lovely place to visit, mother live on Hayling Island (Next Door) so I am down that way quite a bit. She likes that Gunwharf Quays place to get some bargains and I sometimes take her as I like peoplewatching in one of the pubs. Southsea is a nice place to visit to have a walk down the pier, the Highstreet there is a bit rough now as a few shops have gone like Debenhams. Worth also going to the Historic dockyard where you can go on the old boats and see the Mary rose. If you fancy a bit more of a drive then you can go to the Hovercraft museum in Lee on the Solent (nr Gosport) that is a good way to spend an afternoon. Why sailing? I prefer my boats to have twin Lamborghini v12s and be made by Riva…. Did you sail over to the Isle of Wight, lovely place to go, but the ferry is quite dear now, and you need a car to see all of it really, as busses make me ill 😉 Croatia or as they call it Hrvatska sounds good, long way to go though… I hear the Dalmatian coast is very picturesque. Regards.
