  • Did a prom for a nice young gentleman. Was very hot and the car suffered with vapour lock and would not idle in the q so had to let it cool down then drive him in. But he was very happy as it was a total surprise to him. I pulled over to tie the ribbons more taught after a mile as they were flapping all over the place. Lesson learnt there.

    • Does anyone else do a bit of charity driving?

    • I believe Colin did something similar with Lagonda a few years ago. It’s always lovely to take part in these kinds of events—they really add an extra touch of glamour and class. Considering the temperatures we’ve had over the last week, I think it’s completely understandable that the car suffered from vapour lock. Very well done, and it looks a…Read More

  • For the next few days, I’ll be stepping away from the workshop and spending some time in Portsmouth.
Not because I’ve grown tired of old cars.😁
    Quite the opposite.
One of the things I enjoy most about classic cars is that they encourage you to learn skills that many people have forgotten. Whether it’s adjusting brakes, setting ignition timing,…Read More

    • Pompy is a lovely place to visit, mother live on Hayling Island (Next Door) so I am down that way quite a bit. She likes that Gunwharf Quays place to get some bargains and I sometimes take her as I like peoplewatching in one of the pubs. Southsea is a nice place to visit to have a walk down the pier, the Highstreet there is a bit rough now as a…Read More

  • I’m currently in Romania visiting my parents! Despite the five-hour drive, I was very determined to show you guys, and myself at the same time 😄, the biggest car collection in Romania, belonging to the richest man in the country, Ion Țiriac!

The livestream can be found on my YouTube channel. I was astonished by the condition of both the cars an…Read More

  • So here is a scenario. You have unlimited money but you have to spend it on a brand new 25 plate modern car of your preferred/favorite brand (That is still a company in 2025). For me it would be the Mercedes Benz Maybach S680 First Class. Not that I ever would as even if I had that kind of money to spend on a car I would always buy a classic. If…Read More

    • Interesting idea! Funny enough, I used to be a BMW fan since I was a teenager and I even worked for them as a service advisor, but not anymore with all the modern stuff.
Modern cars just aren’t really to my taste. They’re fine to drive now and then, and great for towing a trailer, but all those sensors drive me mad! I also find them quite str…Read More

      • I agree. Good friend of mine has a 2025 5 series bimmer electric, as his company car. Been in it a few times and all the sensors and warnings like the lane thing and is has a shout at you if you go 31 etc. I think these are all mandates for new cars. I would never buy one just for that… I agree about the Bluetooth though. My fintail has…Read More

A few memories from Denmark

I’ve finally been going through some of the photos from our five days in Denmark with Gromit.

97 years old, temperatures well over 30°C, five days of driving… and somehow he kept going. 😅

There were definitely a few moments when I was watching that temperature gauge more than the road ahead, but looking…Read More
