Life is hard without our trusted friend, Graziano! 😅
If there’s one machine we use the most in the workshop, it’s this one!
It started cutting out, and then we noticed an oil leak. So, time to investigate! 🔧
I’m amazed by how complex it is, well, to me at least! 😂 This was actually the first time I’d ever heard of an electromagnetic clutch!…Read More

HCVA Heritage Matters today at a very cool place, Great Nortgern Classics!

Good morning from where the magic happens ✨️ my favourite place..when I’m not driving ☺️

A day at Prescott! 🏁
We’re at Prescott today, surrounded by lots of beautiful Bugattis, which has got me thinking about racing again! 😅
Every time I come here, I get the urge to have another go. The problem is, racing only once or twice a year makes it rather difficult to actually improve. I think if I really wanted to get better, I’d need to…Read More

A few memories from our trip through France with Eleanor 🇫🇷❤️
Of course, she still gave us a few hiccups along the way, because I guess a completely uneventful journey would be asking too much from an old car! 😂
But I think that’s all part of the adventure. The more miles you do together, the more you discover the car’s little weaknesses and…Read More

A little Eleanor update! 🇫🇷❤️
Despite all the hiccups, Eleanor did absolutely brilliantly on our French adventure! She certainly made us work for it at times 😅, but she got us there, got us home, and gave us plenty of memories along the way.
And I have to say a HUGE thank you to all of you! ❤️ I don’t know whether my editing is getting better, t…Read More

An extraordinary moment for me and Auntie and for everyone who’s been following our journey!
Did it take longer than expected? Oh yes.
Was it worse than expected? Absolutely.
Did I learn from the experience? More than I could ever have imagined!
Perhaps that’s why this moment felt so special: we’d earned it. All of us. Auntie included, for p…Read More

A few memories from Denmark

I’ve finally been going through some of the photos from our five days in Denmark with Gromit.

97 years old, temperatures well over 30°C, five days of driving… and somehow he kept going. 😅

There were definitely a few moments when I was watching that temperature gauge more than the road ahead, but looking…Read More

I was told about this event a few days ago: https://www.roverp4dg.org.uk/index.php/events

I think it would be a fantastic opportunity to meet some fellow Rover P4 enthusiasts and take Auntie to see her brothers and sisters…I bet she hasn’t done that in a while!

Of course, there’s still a lot to do before she’s ready, but I’m going to try.…Read More

A new Auntie video is live! 🎉

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all the support you’ve been giving this project. Every comment, suggestion, and word of encouragement really does mean a lot. ❤️

Quite a few of you noticed that the brake bleed nipples don’t seem to be at the highest point. Great spot! 👀 I’m already looking into it, and…Read More

Yesterday was practice at Prescott, and I managed to beat my handicap.
Most people would probably say that’s bad strategy… because now they might lower my handicap for today’s event. 😅
The truth is, I don’t really think about strategy.
For me, Prescott is one of the few places where I can safely explore what both the car and I are capable of.…Read More

Hi everyone! I hope you’re having a fantastic day. 😊

I thought I’d share a few photos from the Prescott hill climb and some behind-the-scenes shots of the Joker repair. I’m currently working on the next chapter of the adventure, but in the meantime, I hope you enjoy these moments from the workshop and the track! 🏁❤️

As promised, here are a few more photos of the Joker from Sicily.
As for the Bugatti’s racing history, I’ll need to check the details with Colin. Since he’s owned the car, it’s been used mainly for hill climbs, where it has won the Prescott Championship four times. It has also competed in a few circuit races, including Donington. In fact, there’s…Read More

Just wanted to share a few photos from the Sicily Bugatti Meeting with the Bugatti Type 51, the Joker.

Looking back, I guess it always happens, I wish I had recorded more. But it was my very first time driving the Type 51, and to be honest, I was quite nervous. It’s such a light and agile car, and the feedback it gives you is incredibly direct.…Read More

Did a prom for a nice young gentleman. Was very hot and the car suffered with vapour lock and would not idle in the q so had to let it cool down then drive him in. But he was very happy as it was a total surprise to him. I pulled over to tie the ribbons more taught after a mile as they were flapping all over the place. Lesson learnt there.

Good evening everyone 😊

I just wanted to share a few more photos of Auntie No!!! and some thoughts that have been on my mind lately.

When I bought this car, I genuinely thought it would be a fairly straightforward project. A bit of tinkering, a few repairs, and back on the road. How wrong I was!

It’s incredible how many stories,…Read More

Black Betty in Bugantics

I was delighted to see that Black Betty (GGT 925) has been featured in the latest edition of Bugantics, the long-running magazine of the Bugatti Owners’ Club. Bugantics has been the club’s magazine for decades and remains one of the most respected publications in the historic motoring world.

Even better, the article…Read More

A little update from behind the scenes of Blacktag Octane…

For quite a while, I tried to keep YouTube organised into active “series” from start to finish. The problem is… real workshop life doesn’t really work like that 😅

While I’m focused on finishing one storyline, work on other cars keeps happening in the background… rallies, re…Read More

When I first met Corto, he was already causing a little bit of trouble with a locked boot… but we did manage to sort that out… in our own way! 😅
I was actually amazed by how much space there is in the boot when I decided to do a little experiment and locked myself inside it, just to make sure I’d still be able to escape if it ever got stuck again…Read More

Corto is usually a very well-behaved Italian. Very masculine, wonderfully elegant, and with a soundtrack that makes every tunnel feel like an event. The 3.5L straight-six is an absolute delight to listen to, and honestly, it might be one of the most comfortable classic GT cars I’ve driven as well.
Most of its adventures are fairly civilised. C…Read More

For the next few days, I’ll be stepping away from the workshop and spending some time in Portsmouth.
Not because I’ve grown tired of old cars.😁
Quite the opposite.
One of the things I enjoy most about classic cars is that they encourage you to learn skills that many people have forgotten. Whether it’s adjusting brakes, setting ignition timing,…Read More

The last time the Joker left the workshop, it came home through three days of torrential rain during the Bugatti Reliability Run.

It survived.

But not without a few complaints.

And the next adventure is a big one.

What a fantastic experience. I was lucky to drive the Joker for three days through everything from glorious sunshine to storms and torrential rain.

I bought the UK’s cheapest Rover P4, and if I’m honest, it wasn’t because it made perfect sense at the time. It wasn’t a carefully planned purchase, and it definitely wasn’t the kind of car most people would look at and think, “Yes, that’s the one.” But there was something about it that stuck with me. I didn’t buy it because it was a good idea……Read More

Here are a few more photos from the last video:

I think I can safely say this was, by far, the best car experience I’ve had at Prescott Hill Climb. Even though it wasn’t a proper race, I can’t really imagine racing a car like this. Just knowing its value would be enough to add a bit of pressure. And to be hones…Read More

So here is a scenario. You have unlimited money but you have to spend it on a brand new 25 plate modern car of your preferred/favorite brand (That is still a company in 2025).
